In Funding Stories, Strengthening community cohesion

Project: Contribution to running costs
Grant: £2,000
Fund: Kop Hill Climb

Princes Risborough Youth Club aim to help young people advance in life. Their grant from the Kop Hill Climb fund has helped enable the club to provide a safe and inclusive environment for 85 different young people over the year.

The club aims to support young people through:

  • The provision of recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life;
  • Providing support and activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.

With the help of the funding, the youth club was able to open every week in 2017; a record in the club’s recent history.

In addition to weekly sessions, the youth club was also able to run trips to Rush Trampolining Centre and Thorpe Park. Several smaller activities also took place during their weekly club sessions thanks to their partnership with Action4Youth and the skills brought by a professional youth worker.
