Local Charities Day builds on the work of the recently published Civil Society Strategy, in which the DCMS (Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport) have committed to enhancing relationships between businesses, charities and local areas, to help communities grow.

For this year’s Local Charities Day the DCMS are highlighting the importance of giving by encouraging people to pledge their time to a local charity, alongside championing the phenomenal and life-changing work of local charities.

Many people are unaware of just how many local charities there are, as well as other not-for-profit organisations such as community interest companies (CICs), social enterprises, clubs and societies. Lots of voluntary organisations provide vital and often life-changing services in their communities, for these organisations small amounts of funding can make huge differences to local people.

At Heart of Bucks we love to showcase some of the great work that’s going on in Buckinghamshire by the organisations we have funded. You can read funding stories on our website here, as well as in our annual report.

We’re always keen to support new organisations, as well as established ones that may never have heard of us – so please help to spread the word!

Here’s all of the fantastic organisations we were able to support in 2017/18, between them they received funding of £638,768 and carried out some truly fantastic work.
