Project: The Wellbeing Hub
Grant: £5,000
Fund: Rectory Homes

The Wellbeing Hub is an enclosed learning area within the existing school grounds. The space is used for activities such as yoga, dance, performing arts and fitness, as well as by the on site wrap around care WASPS (Wytchert After School Play Scheme) which caters for children attending the Infant School and Haddenham Junior school in term-time as well as children from the wider community in school holidays. WASPS is a not-for-profit business and was set up to offer parents flexible and affordable childcare in a safe and happy environment.

In addition to this, the school envisages that the space will also be used by the wider community including local pre-schools and other organisations such as Rainbows and Brownies, adult based clubs and societies. Outside of school hours the space will be available to hire to the general public at subsidised cost.

On Saturday 11th May the hub was officially opened at the school’s fun run and PTA family fun day. Simon and Sarah Vickers from the Rectory Homes fund attended the event to cut the ribbon and open the Wellbeing Hub. The hub was immediately put to use following the official opening with teaching staff taking break-out groups to work there.

Thank you for your support. It is greatly appreciated and makes a real difference to a small school like us.
