Heart of Bucks Community Foundation was delighted to open the celebrations of our 25th anniversary with a special event at Chequers, the country home of the Prime Minister.

By kind permission of Mr Sunak and Mrs Murty, Heart of Bucks hosted a drinks reception entertaining many private local philanthropists who have supported our Foundation during the last 25 years.

Kindly sponsored by The Mulberry Trust, the event offered the opportunity to celebrate a quarter-century of supporting grassroots community organisations, charities, and non-profits in Buckinghamshire, and the role of the community foundation in connecting people who care, with local causes that matter.

Speeches by HM Lord-Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire, the Countess Howe, and the Chairman of The Mulberry Trust, James Frost, highlighted the hugely significant work carried out by the sector during this time, and the important role the Community Foundation has to play now, and in the future.

£2m Match-Funding Challenge!

At the end of his speech, James Frost issued a surprise challenge to the assembled guests: for every £1 they donate during the 25th anniversary year, The Mulberry Trust would provide an additional £1 of investment for Heart of Bucks, creating an incredible £2m of extra value for the county’s charity sector.

It was an incredible gesture, allowing Heart of Bucks to unlock significant value which will benefit Buckinghamshire now, and for many decades into the future.

We look forward to working with the guests on the evening, in partnership with The Mulberry Trust, to maximise these significant, additional charitable funds made available for Buckinghamshire. We are incredibly grateful to James and Elsie Frost, Helen Fowler, and Anthea Mirkowski, the Trustees of The Mulberry Trust, for their generosity and long-standing support of Heart of Bucks.
