In Grant Funds

About the fund

Pinewood Community Fund is a new funding programme to support the Buckinghamshire area of Iver and Fulmer. Applications outside of this area may be considered providing the area of Iver and Fulmer benefits.

Grants available: £5,000

Who can apply?

  • Local community, voluntary or registered charities/charitable groups
  • Local residents’ groups
  • Social enterprises (non-profit)

Aim of the fund

Grants will be awarded for projects benefitting the local area (being administrative area of Buckinghamshire Council) and particularly the local parishes (being the parishes of Iver and Fulmer). Grants may be awarded to recipients located outside the local area/borough with the approval of Pinewood, provided the relevant project(s) benefit the local area.

Criteria

Projects must fit into one or more of the following categories:

Initiatives that create opportunities for young people to develop their skills and support their long-term success, particularly those focused on youth and community development and education, with an emphasis on the growth of screen-based and media industries. This could include, but is not limited to, investment in facilities for young people, training programmes and summer schools.

Programmes that strengthen and enhance the local community, including, but not limited to, improvements to community facilities, community events and green initiatives that help reduce emissions and support the transition to Net Zero locally.

Initiatives that support individuals and communities that are disadvantaged or underprivileged.

Priority will be given to initiatives that improve the quality of life for people living and working in the local area, particularly those with an environmental, educational, cultural, social or economic focus and those benefiting the local parishes of Iver and Fulmer.

Types of projects that are likely to be funded are:

  • Local community events
  • Those that increase local employment and training opportunities
  • Well-being initiatives
  • Those that develop the appreciation of arts and culture
  • Education and extra-curricular activities in schools and community groups
  • Projects that reach out to or impact diverse or marginalised communities and create opportunities for individuals who would otherwise have little or none

The fund may support a proportion of core costs where they are directly related to the delivery of a project that meets the criteria above. However, applications for core costs alone will not be eligible. Any core costs included in an application must be clearly itemised, including the percentage of the total amount requested that they represent.

Applicants will need to demonstrate:

  • How the project will have a positive impact on the community
  • How local people, particularly the excluded and/or disadvantaged will be involved and benefit
  • That consideration has been given on how the project will be maintained and developed into the future, particularly for a start-up or new activity, and ideally show a track-record of previous experience of similar initiatives
  • How the proposed activity will add value to an existing space, facility or programme or community initiative
