In News, Join Our Team

Do you believe in the power of local giving to transform lives? Are you passionate about building stronger, fairer communities? We have just celebrated our 25th year and are looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees to help us build our charity for the next 25 years.

About us

We are an independent charity that connects people who care with causes that matter. By managing charitable funds and awarding grants to local organisations, we help tackle inequality, nurture talent, and strengthen communities across Buckinghamshire.

The role

As a Trustee, you will help guide our strategy, ensure we meet our charitable objectives, and act as an ambassador for our mission. You will bring your skills, perspectives, and networks to help us grow our impact. This is a voluntary role, but the rewards are enormous – from influencing meaningful change to meeting inspiring people making a difference.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, especially those who are passionate about our communities.

We are particularly looking for someone to take on our treasurer role (ACCA/ACA qualified ideally with SORP experience) when our current Trustee steps down next year, after a very successful 9 years in the role.

But if you have expertise in finance and investment, fundraising and philanthropy or community engagement/grant making we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll gain

  • A chance to shape the future of our region through strategic decision-making
  • An opportunity to work with other passionate, skilled Trustees
  • Insight into the challenges and opportunities facing local communities
  • The satisfaction of knowing your time and skills are making a real difference

Commitment:

Around five Board meetings per year (approx. 16 hours in total), plus occasional events, such as our Annual Supporters Reception or visits to local charities. If you are able to bring your skills to support one of our committees, that would involve a further four meetings per year.

This is a voluntary, unpaid role, but of course expenses are available for all activity you undertake on our behalf.

Location: We mostly meet in-person, often at our offices in Aylesbury, but we also like to get out and visit charities around the Buckinghamshire area.

How to apply

You will find the role description here.

To apply, please complete this Expression of Interest form.

Our Board will review applications as they arrive but please allow 6-8 weeks for a response.

Help us build a stronger, fairer future – one community at a time.
