News from Heart of Bucks: our new CEO!November 23, 2015 3:00 pm
Heart of Bucks, the Buckinghamshire Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Chief Executive, Peter Costello. As long-term Buckinghamshire resident and senior executive specialising in the not-for-profit/charity sector, he brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation. He takes over from Guy Birkby, former trustee of Heart of Bucks before stepping into the Interim CEO role for the past eight months. Guy, during his time as Interim CEO demonstrated commitment and passion not only to the organisation, but to Buckinghamshire and to making a difference for its residents.
Peter joins us from DENS, a charity supporting the homeless in Hertfordshire, where he is currently the Deputy Chief Executive. Peter has developed a passion for community action and social enterprise, with previous experience as Head of Finance for Aylesbury Vineyard, five years as Chief Operations Officer for City Temple in London and eight years senior leadership at Wycliffe UK, near High Wycombe.
In Peter’s own words: ‘The position with Heart of Bucks offers me the opportunity to use my talents and expertise within an organisation that resonates closely with my own drive and calling.’
The Chairman, Countess Howe states: ‘We are delighted that Peter is joining us at this exciting period in our growth and development. We believe that Peter will deliver our ambitious plans to grow our endowment funds to £10m by 2020, which will cement future funding for Buckinghamshire causes during times of austerity.’
With over £800,000 of grants and loans distributed to Buckinghamshire in the last financial year, Heart of Bucks remains committed to local communities of Buckinghamshire and working with our strategic partners to ensure that together, we all make a difference.
